Gringos and Solidarity

LOVE is a four-legged word

At Meu Pet Gringo, we believe that together we can make a difference and contribute to a fairer and more supportive world. Therefore, we joined forces with philanthropic institutions such as CPV Salvando Vidas to create a movement to help animals in vulnerable situations.

We use our structure and reach to raise donations for animal causes and part of our profits are donated to help these institutions provide medical care, food, clean water, shelter and love for abandoned animals.

We collect, organize and donate basic items such as beds, feeders, blankets and other useful items for animals.

You can contribute however you want, by donating a used item, making a cash donation, or through your purchases in our store!

History

Meu Pet Gringo is fully committed to improving the lives of animals, and one of the issues that concerns us most is animal abandonment.

Much of our love for pets comes from the generous and welcoming spirit of Angela Bernardes, the woman who educated us and today is one of the main collaborators of CPV Salvando Vidas! A non-profit collective that works with rescuing, fostering, medical treatment, neutering, feeding and donating animals that have been abandoned or rescued after mistreatment.

In addition to working at CPV, Angela welcomes dozens of abandoned animals into her own home, including cats, dogs, and even small stray wild animals. Angela goes to great lengths to rescue animals in abandoned situations, and often ends up bearing the costs of medical treatments and food, as the collective often does not have the resources to help all the animals that appear.

CPV Salvando Vidas was born from the desire of a group of friends to make a difference in the lives of abandoned animals in the interior of São Paulo. Vanessa, Angela and Renata came together in 2021 and since then they have been fighting daily to help alleviate the suffering of abandoned animals.

"Initially, the collective was created to help Sol, who was run over and ended up losing the use of her legs, Angela stayed with her, but with everyone's help to maintain her finances. Then came Marcos, a blind SRD who was run over in January 2022, and it took almost a year to be adopted. It didn't have any consequences, but it generated costs as we couldn't find an adopter and had to pay for hospital stays. Later Van Gogh came with his ear with bugs and is still in treatment, he's still with the vet but he's getting better."

CPV Salvando Vidas develops projects to raise public awareness about responsible ownership and the importance of castration to avoid the overpopulation of animals on the streets. You can see their work by clicking here!

The story of Angela Bernardes and CPV Salvando Vidas is inspiring and shows us the importance of helping animals that have been abandoned or suffer mistreatment.

Meu Pet Gringo is proud to collaborate with the cause and help promote actions that aim to improve the lives of these special animals.

Together we can make the difference!

Why does this matter?
